Well life for us over the last year and a half has been a roller coaster from day one of having my beautifull boy Daniel now aged 11 and matthew 9.
Daniel was born 16 dec 1998 normal delivery very please excited and happy as he was planned and we could not wait had him at 9 clock at night Hubby went home,
When i woke up in the morning i noticed something was wrong with his eye so i informed the nurse and she got the doctor striaght away adn they started to do tests, i then rung my husband said you need to get here striaght away i noticed something was wrong,
The hours seemed like years i still remember and when he finally came back we was told he could be blind and disabled well you can imagine how horrified i was but i did not care i said he my baby and i love him no matter what well we went through tests adn tests blood tests brain tests, when he had the brain test they tried to get him to sleep but no matter how much they gave him he would not go and still stubern now lol.
We went to the hospital for results and they said he might be disabled we cant say and he is blind in one eye and the other eye we dont know.
Well years on he is blind in left eye and only 6 percent in right eye, and he cant see straight through that eye he has to look at the side but we have always been honest with him about everything.
Then we have had to fight at school to get him extra help but finally got it.
Then we find out he has a learning difficulty and thats why he has been struggling more at school.
And to top it all off 2009 october he comes home mum my finger sore and i said have you done anything yes some one pulled them back, so he seemed ok but after couple days still there so went doctors and they said yeah just strap both up and be ok then week later still very painfull i went to the hospital yet again strapped up,
nothing went in coupld days after said something not write and they did not know so at 1 clock in the morning they transfered us to alderhay, we took my other son to nans and both went, they gave him some medicine he had a reaction and started to having problems breathing but went and then within a day it spread to his hand then other hand then both ankles knees hips toes all with in a day.
They tested him for lukumia nothing and we was horrified at thinking it was that he was in for over 3 week me and my husband took turns staying as we had another son, and we still had to make sure he did get looked after school and so on but he found it very hard he cryed his self to sleep every night and he slept with me and my husband as we took turns in hospital one night him one night me it was so hard being apart as we could not deal with it together as we was with the other child, it killed me when my son cryed his heart out in pain and nothing worked when he could not even feed his self go toilet he was like a baby but the breaking point for me was when he said mum i can not fight the pain anymore i had to go out i cryed my heart out for a child to say that to you is heartbreaking.
When they told us it was arthirits my husband was very up set but i on the other hand said i can deal with this, he here and it not life threating so i can handle this.
I now think when people say arthritis people dont relise how hard it can get when every day is different no day is the same one day can be belting and the other day it can all come crashing down on you.
and i just think he 11 since being born you have done all this to my beautifill boy why oh why,
I love my boys and i could not ask for braver boys.
